Kev, my car was shod with the Cokers between 2001-2003, and was parked. When I got the car a few years ago, the tires still had the lil nibs on them...and they were still holding air after 8-10 years of sitting. The white had discolored, but a very quick scrub with blechewhite took care of that. I've been able to put several hundred miles on them without issue, and there is NO sign of dry rot.

I read on the Coker website at some point that they have a "tread life warranty", meaning they're covered as long as there is tread on the tires. Apparently they are formulated to last longer than modern tires.

As for driving performance, I have no reference/comparison basis as this is the only set of tires I've had on the car, and only car with bias tires I've ever driven, but I don't have any complaints.

I hope this helps! I'll measure the WW width this evening.

Thanks for the reply, and offer to help. I hadn't heard of HU yet, they look pretty good. I had seen the Rhode Island wiring harness websites but they don't emphasise having the correct terminals as HU does, and it's something I was wondering about. I take it the quality is as advertised?

I intend for my car to be a driver for the foreseeable future, and I'm hesitant to pull the dash to replace the harness. However, I'm also concerned that the old, cracked, and sometimes bare wires in the engine compartment will lead to catastrophe. Luckily not too much has been mangled by previous owners, so I may try to only replace the engine compartment wiring without pulling the dash. What are the gaskets you're referring to?

Also, I agree - Howard has been immensely helpful!

Deskdriver, I have nothing to offer but this job is something I need to do as well. Any tips or pictures of your progress would be appreciated!

As always, Howard, thanks!

Looks like they got you started on a wooden boat tail build.

DOH! Of course. By "trouble light" I thought he was referring to some sort of diagnostic tool, and was wondering if "ringing out" the wires is required, etc.

Edit: Thanks Mal!

"A couple of nice cool burning magnetic trouble lights you can stick out of the way on either side of the instrument cluster is a big help."

Howard,
Can you expound upon this? What are you referring to, and what is their purpose? Thanks!

- Mark
