Help with leaking ultramatic front seal

Hi everyone. Just wanting some help/ advice. I have replaced my front transmission seal in my ultramatic on my 56 Clipper. I fitted it flush with the housing and it still seems to be leaking. My question is, should I knock it in all the way home till it stops and is this the possible reason it's leaking? Thanks for any suggestions.

Cheers Brian, Yeah it's in pretty good nick considering that nothing much has been done to it for years. It's not quite on the road yet. Just some minor stuff to fix. Well we might have the only ones left! You will have to post some pics when yours is painted.

All sorted Ross. I burred the small gear (the last one that engages). I filed off the burrs and with a bit of wrangling, it went home and all bolted up. Thanks for the tip!

Hi Guys and girls. I'm pulling down my ultramatic in my 56 Clipper. Firstly, in the pic below, i'm thinking this is my hi range clutch assembly but someone has welded it and i'm not quite sure why? Also when I went to bolt up my transmission (bellhousing to motor), it doesn't seem to matter how hard I try I cant get it all the way home. comes up about a half inch short and I cant get it flush to bolt it up. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks Owen_dyneto/Dave, but I have spoken to him and he doesn't have a black and silver one.

Thanks Don and Dads 56. I have one in ok condition (Just cracks from old age), so i'm in no rush. I think i'll just wait till a 'NOS' one turns up. But thanks again, I appreciate the help,

Phil
