FWIW, the Pittsburgh craigslist has 2 engines & related parts for sale for $100. Might be worth looking into before they head off to China.

FWIW I use a 24F, a little shorter in the box & no problems with any clearances.

For those tracking numbers, I found a Packard in a salvage yard resting well. VIN 5492-6380, TP# C70551. It's in Rankin's, Rural Valley PA, 724 354 2647

Today is the anniversary of Packard's closing, Yahoo news has a small write up & the last Packard video ad. It's on the home page & you have to scroll down a bit.

An office I visited today there was an advertisement for a mid 50's Benz convertible,& what caught my attention was the Studebaker Packard logo on the bottom. Underneath it stated that Studebaker Packard exclusively sold Mercedes cars. Interesting competition, go to a Packard dealer & drive out with a Benz or vice versa. Just never knew.

A while back I needed an outer tie rod end for my 56 Exec. & couldn't find anything on the parts X-ref, so I checked around & found that an ES416R did the trick. Maybe this could be added to the X-ref dept.
