Geeze! Wish we had known about you when looking for a mechanic for our 56 Packard! You aren't really that far from Palmetto, GA. We have been able to straighten out most of the problems inflicted by a mechanic who was touted as a good Packard technician. What a horror story. Contact information, please, for future reference and for others in the Atlanta/Chattanooga area.

Avanti Mats

What a handsome car! I actually used this company many years ago [or a similar one] for mats in many of my collector cars. Thanks for reminding us that this is a great choice for solving the Avanti/Packard/Imperial car mat problem. Am now thinking of yellow accents on a black field for our 66 Imperial Convertible which is Daffodil Yellow with black leather interior. By the way, the company is in Fort Mill, SC right across the river from Rock Hill where I taught for many years at Winthrop University.

Thank you for this information! It is truly a coincidence that in addition to wanting floor mats for our 56 Patrician, we are seeking mats for our 72 Avanti II!

I hope they kept your templates!

Just visited the cocomats site and they do not list Packard as a make in the order section. Did you have yours made expressly for a Caribbean? Does one need to talk directly to them in placing an order, assuming they do have the correct patterns?

Proof, again, that Nance's team was earnestly trying to build "The Greatest Packard of Them All."

One of these I remember to be an NOS 56 Citrine driver side cast for the power seat. I am in Florida for a week and a half but will make this a priority when I return. CAN NOT BELIEVE THIS IS THE COLOR YOU NEED. Although this is probably a senior plastic casting I am fairly sure it will screw right on.

Hold the phone! I think--but I am not positive--that I have an NOS Driver side seat panel. It is for a Senior rather than a Clipper as I remember, but now that I think of it, I may have a Clipper version as well. I will have to go through a plethora of parts to locate what I have, so please sit tight and let me see what I can find. It may be a week or more before I can check this out. I don't know what your color scheme is, but these pieces can be easily painted to match your interior scheme. I hope I can help! [I agree that this is a detail that Packard did not think through very carefully. At least the slot should have been reinforced in some way to shield it from the movement/s of the driver/s].

Can't think of anything more exciting than going to pick up a Packard. These cars just have an unbeatable mystique, and are so much a part of my childhood, beginning with a 1955 Clipper Super with no engine or transmission. But I washed and waxed that car within an inch of its life. I kept it in a neighbor's back yard and they thought that the maid drove it there everyday. I even painted whitewalls on the black wall tires!

I was lucky enough to have purchased a similar car many years ago with less than 20,000 miles. You may have seen it on E-Bay fairly recently [turquoise and white jade]. I drove that car literally everywhere and never had a moments problem. It drove and handled magnificently and I never had any problems with the Torsion Level system. I eventually won a 2nd Place national award from PAC in Asheville, NC. My engine was not detailed and a beautifully turned out 55 Clipper DeLuxe beat me out of first. A successive owner of my Constellation detailed the engine and installed correct new carpeting. It is, today, still one of the finest around. I miss it...and just wish you the same motoring pleasure I had out of mine. With the particular drive train set up and the smaller Clipper wheel base, you will find this car to be a superb and surprisingly fast performer!
