How to lower top on 526 Convertible Coupe?
#21

Bob Supina
We have had the car for several years and have never lowered the top.
Yes, pop all the snaps and disconnect from the windshield, but what I don't know is what do you do about the rear window flap?
Do you leave it loose or secure it to the snaps in the roof?

I acquired these years ago. I am told that they are for the 1939 Super Eight.
Maybe they even fit the 120?
I'm asking $50 for the pair...plus shipping from 77406.

Thanks for looking.

How do you remove a stuck temp bulb from the head?

Bob Supina
I restored my 1937 Packard Super-Eight 30 years ago.

Unfortunately, I did not have the foresight to periodically remove the temperature bulb from the head and now it is stuck.

The retaining fastener and sleeve easily came out, but the bulb is stuck from rust? corrosion? whatever....

I am trying to soak it with penetrating fluid, but wonder if any reader has crossed this bridge and has a great hack.

I am hoping to avoid 'major surgery' of removing the head...etc...

Thanks for reading this post

1935-37 Senior radio head bulb
#30
Home away from home
Home away from home

Bob Supina
The bulb in the radio head is stamped MADE IN USA but mine does not have a number, but it looks just like a 1445 with a BA9s base.
The 1445 is a 12-14v which would work but debatable whether it would be as bright as a proper 6v bulb.
Notice that the filament of the original bulb is much smaller than the 1445.

1. Does anyone know the number of the original bulb?
2. Has anyone had any experience with replacing the original bulb with an LED?

Thanks for looking.
