Yes the pads, rotors, bearings and calipers are from modern applications and replacements can be attained locally or through us. The instructions include pad and rotor replacement numbers.

I just wanted to provide some information on our master cylinder rebuild kits that we offer. The kits contents is based off original rebuild kits from Packard. These did not include the copper washer as mentioned in a previous post. In many cases these can be re-used with no ill effect. The copper is soft enough take up any imperfections in the mating surfaces. They should only need to be replaced if cracked or split. In fact many of the aftermarkets manufacturers of the era like EIS and Wagner did not include them. Here is a recent ebay listing for a NOS rebuild kit from Packard.

To set timing you can rotate distributor until you get maximum vacuum reading on a vacuum gauge at idles. Then take it for a drive and see if it pings under loaded and retard a bit at a time until it stops pinging.

Senior Packards all had 5" bolt circle wheels, the only ones with 5 1/2" BC were hearses and ambulances. Clippers in 56 had 4 1/2"bolt circle which is the same as Ford. Hope this clears up any uncertainty.
