Thank you all for the information thus far. Yes, a picture of the tack strip would be great and a close up how that goes in the channel would be helpful. Also some close up of the channels that you are talking about. I do have the strips that go across the top of the covetable top. I am not sure about the rain gutter strip that would go under it, talking about the hardware above the window your referring to.
I understand that the cover for the top is called a booth, I used the term toneau due to the lack of my English. Thanks

1955 Caribbean Convertable top

How is the convertible top being attached at the back, the trunk panel on the 1955 Caribbean and where is it attached. Think there might be some metal strips that might be sewn into the top to strengthen it. I wonder if there is any other hardware besides the stainless steel strip that holds the cover (Tonneau) when the top is down? Any help and information on that is appreciated.

1955 Caribbean front seat "kill switch"

I have posted this question before and I believe someone had a diagram or pictures on a kill switch for the motors that move the seat horizontal and vertical on the 1955 caribbena.
The problem is that I have noticed that on my assembly it was somewhat bent and also needed a little welding due to some cracks. Can anyone post that diagram or picture for the best way to handle this problem Thanks, Walter

On the Caribbean 1955 was underside of the hood originally pained in the same color as the top of it or was that painted in black.
Any information or hint will be appreciated as all the advice I have received in the past Walter

It is that little chrome or stainless piece that is at the top of the upright post. It shows that there is a single screw holding it. The chrome piece that you show is I believe from the 56 like the other member mentioned in his answer. I looked in the parts book to find part # but could not find it.
Thanks for your help so far and have a nice Thanksgiving to all of you from around here. Walt

Maybe I did not clarify myself when I was looking for information.
The car is not all white. It is the 3 color with the dark blue at the bottom, the light blue strip in the center and the upper part of the car is a off white color.... sort of creamy white. I wanted to know if anyone knows the paint code for the white (off white creamy) color. It is a convertible with a sort of tan top which I believe was the original shade. By the way, I have seen pictures of Caribbean coupes and yes they are very rare. I think only made in 1956. Anyway, any help on the white color code would be appreciated, Walter
