Yes, I'm a BIG fan of "enhancements", LOL! And speaking from experience, you can't feel the difference, and isn't that the point, modifications that look and feel stock??

Why do people think that yellow is an attractive color on a car? It reminds of of American Graffiti, "Hey, you know a guy around here with a pi$$ yellow deuce coupe, supposed to be hot stuff?"

My sentiments exactly.....

I discussed it with my local mechanic today and I brought up the possibility of a weak coil. It tested okay on his meter. It's an Autolite system and the coil only has a hot connection. We assume the ground is through the housing via the screws into the firewall. He suggested cleaning the area and reattaching the screws to make sure of a good ground. He thought that maybe after running awhile, it could be breaking down, possibly because of a less than perfect ground. Tomorrow we are going on a cruise that will cover about 125 miles so I'll report back . . .

I had a similar experience that was baffling. Everything was new, gapped properly, timing and dwell set by a friend with proper equipment. When warmed up and driving it would start to miss.

What fixed mine was I loosened the distributor, advanced it a bit then tightened it back down and everything went good.

Does anyone know of a source for a Stewart Warner type 407 fuel pump used on a '32?

Only one I've seen in many, many years sold at Hershey last year in the booth right behind the PAC tent. They are quite rare, be prepared to spend $700 or more for a good one. I doubt any of the usual vendors will have one, I'd start by contacting all the owners of 32 cars in the PAC directory and hopefully one of them might have a spare they're willing to sell.

That was me. I bought the pump which I just happened to stumble upon it. I got it for a decent price ($400)considering it was also rebuilt. I haven't put it on my car yet as I have to replumb the line, but it's for sale for $10,000.

I believe one just sold on Ebay recently and the bottom casting was cracked.

I believe most replacements used an AC pumps with the pump lever modified. That's what I currently run. Gould maybe able to get you an AC pump. The current owner indicated that they use to modify the AC pumps. He won't rebuild and Stewart Warner pumps.
