Kev,
Can you please move these posts into the "1934 shock links" Topic in the Pre-War Forum?

Only automatics with a REAR pump can be push started regardless of torque converter type. The rear pump supplies pressure to engage the bands and/or clutch PACKS.
CI Powerglide had a rear pump and can be push started. Not sure about T'Flites. As long as there is oil in the torque converter then engine brakeing will occur in all automatics except may be Dynaflow. Not sure about dynaflow.

G'day again,
And for adding the '55 to the Owner Registry, twice! At least it looks like that's what happened. If you identify the superfluous entry then BigKev can delete that one.

I just heard a few moments ago that Bob Turnquist has passed away after a recent hospitalization. Anyone involved in Packards should recognize his name, one of the first, if not the very first noteable Packard historian, Author of "The Packard Story", savior of tons of original Packard documents destined for destruction, gracious donator of Packard archives and financial support to all major Packard museums. Founder/owner of Hibernia Auto Restorations here in NJ, founding member of CCCA, and many more honors and associations. I'm sure his passing will be noted in all major hobby publications.

My money would be on the 320 cu in, low compression 2 barrel used by Nash and Hudson. The most understressed power plant they made and I would guess the longest lived most trouble free.
For economy I would pick the same engine with high compression. If the judges disqualify them as not "Packard" enough, then I'll take the same engine in Packard Clipper form. Incidentally I wonder what kind of mileage you could get out of the same engine in a Clipper with overdrive, with fuel injection and electronic ignition added, and radial tires?

The most I have on it is a photo. My Salado photos are in the Recent Photos section.
