That makes sense as the fuel pump heat shield is engine green.
Thanks

I am refurbishing my exhaust manifold and want to paint the carb shield the correct color. As i need to paint it, why not the correct color?
So, was it painted or left raw? Much thanks

Has anyone had any experience with this company?
I'm thinking about using them because they're here on the east coast and the turnaround time is only about a week. And the cost seems to be reasonable as well. Please let me know if you had any experience with this company.

The correct gasket is a metal one with flanges. PAPER WILL FAIL! My gasket was about $89 but is correct and will last a very long time.

Re: clock rebuild

I went on a tour with a friend of mine and his wife and his 1947 clipper. He had his clock converted to a quartz clock. Each day he would disconnect the battery at the end of the day and when we came back in the morning my job was to set the clock. I set the clock by just pushing in a button a motor would rotate the hands around to the correct time. So this is a real big help if you disconnect your battery when you get finished using the car which I think most of us do. And of course the quartz clock is extremely accurate. From what I've read the changing voltages from the 6 volt electrical system is one of the reasons the clocks of that era on all cars were not accurate.

Re: Steering wheel horn switch veiw

It looks like one can test the horns with the steering wheel removed by turning on the ignition and touching a wire between the center contact "i" and the nut g. Is that correct?
On the 47 Custom super clipper, As I recall the power to the horn relay comes from a wire connected to upper right screw terminal on the solenoid. My horn was not working and I think this was the problem. It was not wired correctly. Have not done this yet.
