I didn't have a camera with me this morning, but I'll get you a photo. I have absolutely, positively, beyond all doubt verified that there are no diamond brackets or theft-proof numbers on the firewall of this Packard 160 Henney 7 Passenger closed touring car.

J.D. - just FYI that numbering system (body type - sequential production number) started in the 9th series (1932) and used a starting number of 11 rather than your noted 1001 or 2001 at least thru 1937. I'm unsure of what the baseline was from 1938 and 1939 but by 1940 it was 2001. V8 era started at 1001.

Correctly magnetizes the field poles to match the polarity of the battery.

Thank you, BigKev for your PM and everyone else for their support.

The Irish have a particular aversion to others who 'drop a dime' despite of being on the receiving end of an unwarranted attack.

These people fade away eventually and to acknowledge their existence only encourages them. I will choose to not name and shame for these reasons.

Thank you all for your support and you can look forward to more inane postings from me asking particularly stupid questions along with totally inappropriate commentary!

Lets leave it there and get on with the work!

Slan go foill,

Pat.

It is mounted by a 2 band bracket arrangement that utilizes 2 of the head bolts, alongside the thermostat housing. I am sure this is not original, but works very well. The inlet line attaches to a fitting on the block, with a small bypass to the neck base. The outlet attaches to the base of the filler neck. The line going up and over is the vacuum advance to the carb.

G'day Steve,
for adding your '40 to the Registry. Unfortunately I couldn't open up your entry to see the details but I'll have another look tomorrow, it's nighttime here in Australia. Packardinfo has been a bit clunky tonight so maybe after BigKev weaves his Webmasterly magic it'll open then.

G'day Gerard,
If I'm to live up to the reputation Eric has so unfairly saddled me with I have to go

Could I invite you to please add your '55 to the owner Registry together with a pic, any known history and how you acquired it? And I see you mentioned in a post that you had a '56, so likewise with that one please?
Some kudos too, I see your '48 is in the Owner Registry, so

And the '48 has a prior owner who would be of interest to many on Packardinfo, check it out people!
