Packard5678, thanks i appreciate the info, i know in a lot of other forums people kind of get uptight to answer maybe the same old questions......i am a gear head and love the old 50's cars and have restored plenty.....but most of those cars have factory assembly manauls and aftermarket parts galore and cheap.........this will be my first attempt at something this old and rare with just the web site for support and solutions....so thanks again to all of you!!!!

Shock Question
Home away from home
Home away from home

Pat and Melanie Westerkamp
I went down to the shop today to work on the Packard and put the oil in the front shocks like i have read on numerous forum threads here........ i thought the shocks would be visible from the engine bay but they are not.......do you have to take the wheels off to fill the shocks???????? all the threads here make it sound like they fill them and then bounce the car, and repeat until full and stiff so i assumed they where filled from the engine bay or easily reached. Needless to say i did not take a floor jack so it didn't get done..... I posted this on the Dumb Question Thread that i have but thought it might be hidden in there and it would not receive any comments
Thanks in advance

Stupid Questions Oh Well

Gotta learn and i can not find anything in searching....

All questions pertain to the 41 club coupe deluxe

1. If there is a jack etc on this car where would it be?

2. Took a battery over today to help get the car going......does the bottom cushion of the front seat secure to the seat frame or just sit there?

3. In reading a thread here about coils there was mention of putting a + feed on the - side of the coil (i think) are these old cars 6V + ground or - ground?

4. In doing the bounce check on the front and rear of the car the rear shocks seem fine...the front are ...well bouncy as hell.....do i send the front levers back to be rebuilt???? if so with who????....and to factory specs????? or do i just buy new ones?. The shocks on these cars are not tied to the car VIN or trim tags like the 50s and 60s cars are they?

Thanks in advance

I am curious about colors, style lines in fabric, and looks? The car is factory black
