And make sure to verify with the supplier that all the components in the carb rebuild kit are compatible with today's alcohol-laced gasoline. I have not come across any, but I understand there are kits out there that have accelerator pump seal material that is not alcohol-resistant.

Nice job Kevin. Yes, it does take some time to properly install the material as you did, versus just slapping it down!

With regard to the comment about the beige color on the LWB 8-passenger, I didn't see it as a comment about whether it was a correct available factory color as much as it was a comment about the unsuitability of that color on such a formal body style.

Thanks Owen, I can understand that. Black or dark blue would have been much more in keeping with that formal body style.

Is this a factory color? (In another thread there was a beige car also, and there was some concern expressed about the color - maybe the shade on this other car wasn't correct?)

Just trying to learn.

Kevin,

I used a similar insulation product on my '39 Ford sedan. Cleaned and primed the roof and applied a product called HushMat. Car was painted black and after about 6 months in the Florida sun, it started coming unattached. Removed the headliner and removed the material. For my Packard, I sprayed the roof with LizardSkin thermal and sound deadener. Water soluble and sprays with an undercoating gun.

I used the Eastwood X-MAT? UNDERHOOD AND HEADLINER sound deadener on my black Studebaker roof. It sat out all this summer and no issues. I specially went with this product since it was for high heat applications.

Sorry Kevin, don't mean to tromp all over your thread.

Do a google search for 'copper asbestos gasket' and 'copper annular gasket' and you will get a lot of hits. They are available now with a graphoil (grafoil) filler also.

Neat paint booth setup! What did you use for a spray gun?

The video was a great idea Kevin! Sure is a big difference. I used a similar material (from Eastwood) on the roof of my '64 Studebaker and it made a similar improvement.

You are moving right along on that Packard!
