All of this info is great! Many thanks to Let the Ride Decide, and to ECAnthony for the pics.
Let the Ride Decide - do you have the capability to scan the article on the renovation to the Packard Hempstead building? What issue of the Packard News was that contained in? As a kid, we had a lot of items around the house that came from sales awards, both from Packard, Studebaker, and Datsun. Skotch Plaid coolers, a freestanding cabinet stereo, and other things. I'll have to ask my mom if she remembers the various things my dad won.

Yes, sure is! Is that out of the Packard newsletter sent to dealers?

1955 Dealer Awards Info?
|
||||
---|---|---|---|---|
Home away from home
|
As some of you may remember from my earlier posts, my family had a Packard dealership (Packard Hempstead) in Hempstead, Long Island, NY. An item that my Mom recently gave me is a marble pen set with clock that my Dad received from Packard. The plaque reads "AWARDED FOR OUTSTANDING SALES ACHIEVEMENT PACKARD-CLIPPER-DIV. 1955". I've attached two pictures below.
Does anyone have any factory literature that would have been sent to dealers informing them of sales contests and selling awards for 1955?

There has been a lot of interest in these items. I can't edit the original post any more, so this is what I have left:
Only one (1) really nice S-P Kar Kleen All-Purpose Cleaner upholstery and fabric cleaner in glass jar, p/n SP-50005. Two (2) Studebaker/Packard Cooling System Cleaner and Neutralizer, p/n SP-50009. One (1) Studebaker Tar and Road Oil Remover, p/n SP-50238. Pics below. Message me thru this forum if interested. Thanks!

Those are cool! The boat my grandfather had built in the mid-50s had a Packard Marine 8 cylinder. The boat and engine are long gone, but I've still got the marine transmission if anyone is looking for one.

'58 Station Wagon Fuel Sender Ohm Range?
|
||||
---|---|---|---|---|
Home away from home
|
Does anyone know the specs for the ohm range of a '58 Packard Station Wagon fuel tank sender (when measured at the sender)? I assume the ohm range would be the same for the '58 sedan and hardtop (except Hawk).
Thanks in advance for any and all input!

The '46 Clipper sure looks like a very solid car. Maybe one that you can get driving/stopping, then improve a little at a time? Definitely would need an onsite inspection to see what parts are there (and not there) as far as engine, trans, etc.
With the engine out and in pieces, this one may end up being a 'resto-mod with a late model drivetrain.
