This tag was found on a 1929 626 sedan parked in 1955 with 82000 miles the oil was changed at 45310 miles could not see a date. the tag says Packard Columbus motor car company 340 east broad street columbus ohio at the bottom it says Packard crystal motor oil at your Packard dealer only. I just thought others would like to see this tag

Yes bought some from egge for the Packard I drive a lot. but I have a parts car that aways seems to be in the way and If I could get the engine running it would be a lot easier to move around the valves in that motor are so bad that they cant even be reworked. I was hoping to get after market numbers because I know someone who has old nos parts but has no numbers for 29 Packard valves it would take a lot longer to open every box. but thanks for the reply

Here are pictures of 2 different heads and gaskets. The bare metal head I had bought a while back but I realized that the 1 has holes for coolant next to the center head bolts the other dose not same with the gaskets. At 1 time I saw a different head then these for a standard 8 for sale on ebay the temp gauge sender was mounted with 4 bolts in stead of pipe threads like these. anyone know how many different heads they made? for some reason the pictures will not download

I have owned several cars in the 20s with mechanical brakes . check to make shur the axle is not moving front and back loose spring pin or ubolts. also I have had shoes come loose and jam inside the drum.if that is not it take apart all the linkage and clean it at every joint. My Packard had the part that goes through the backing plate sticking.
