I think in the fifties packard was slowly moving toward plastic coated wires as the wiring between the junction boxes (turn, head, and horn) was also plastic coated, perhaps for better weather resistance. Funny enough, though, the wiring from the turn signal housings themselves were still shellac clothed.

I know my 52 Mayfair had that coating on its thick chrome armrests/window sill on the inside beltline.

I would definetly ask about the history and repairs made. Although the blue interior matches the exterior a lot better, the interior is not one of the six offered by Packard at that time. Of the six, one had better like red or black since they were the two dominant colors. It does seem to have some options on it: tailfins, exhaust extention, tinted glass, washer, etc.

I think that may be where Mary Livingstone worked because in an episode of the Jack Benny Program he didn't want to be around the May Co. reunion of ? secretary-staff-salespersons that Mary was giving. Of course he got pulled into the coffee-clatch anyway.

Looks like they have generic floor brackets which may come in handy as well.

Wasn't there at one time the idea of using torsion bars on the Rambler? Also, what about an experimental long wheelbase model for limos, etc. that wouldn't need the interconnected wheels.

Hey guys, I weas reading the 1952 salesman book and noticed there were two "black" paints available for this year (and possibly others). It is called Ebony Gold Metallic- Scheme A. Has anyone ever seen a car with this paint job? I never have unless it is close to the regular Black- Scheme X. Maybe it was for Patricians or long wheelbases? A picture of both of them would be nice.

I have had that problem too and I agree with BH on this. Check your pillar switches-wiring for a short. It should be easy if you have two switches per door. Just push one in with your finger and see if the outside-dash lights go out. It must be the other one if they do. Then gently pull it out or take off the kickpanel(s) to check the wiring.

You could always do this.
Have the two exit vents as normal and mount two speaker grills with the defogger in the middle. Then just use one of the speaker grills for the return air and the other as a speaker. That way you would have all the gadgets on your car. I don't know about the noise of the returning air though.
