Indeed, this is a very late import (end of 2016). I know of one 1956 Caribbean export (which belonged to Edith Piaf, at display in a museum here) and one 1956 Patrician (with a kph speedometer) that was once for sale here in a rather rough condition, many many years ago. And there is/was another 1956 Patrician that appeared in a magazine 21 years ago. Not idea how many Packard were exported here, but a few were.

I will contact the Studebaker National Museum. Thanks for the link!

Fred

Hi all,

New to the forum and to the Packard world, I recently purchased a 1956 Patrician that I saw for sale thanks to a great topic here that tries to collect the ads of Packards for sale on Craigslist. Kind of Xmas gift for a car I think I always wanted after reading a book 20 years ago (well, 23 to be accurate, that was back in 1994!). The car is Mojave Tan (one repaint in a bit too light tone) with a matching mint interior (the car has 15,300 miles). That dash is just a piece of jewelry.

I'm currently doing to paperwork to have it registered/titled, and just discovered that this Patrician is number 3765 out of 3775 produced. Could it be that this car was produced during the last day(s) of Packard operations in Detroit?

Apologies for my newbie questions.

Fred from France
