Howard,

I ate my spinach, and went back and finally yanked it free. The seals had definitely fused. I cleaned up the bore a bit, and also grabbed a shot of the reservoir. It might be hard to tell, but I'd love to get people's opinion on whether this master cylinder can be reused or if I need to use the original (which I will post photos of here shortly)

Mike,

I'll PM you.

Are they seriously asking over $100K for that '37? I don't know much about '37s but that seems high for that condition...

And a Henny Packard - someone alert Don.

Chipping away at various things, including the BTV. I’ve torn down the original BTV that came with the car all the way and the spare down to the steel washer in the master cylinder. While the spare appears to have mostly older components the return spring is intact and the compensator spring is in great shape. What is odd is my original BTV had been rebuilt sometime in the not too distant past but it must have gotten water in it because the compensator spring is corroded and broken and the return spring is rusted and broken. Odd stuff. In the spare the rod won’t come out. The other one came out fairly easy after a few tugs. Anyone got any suggestions?

Hang on to spare points too. There seems to be a batch of cheaply made points floating around, leaving many a classic car owner stranded.

Agree with Don. Bearings typically grumble, or grind if they are going. Usually accompanied by visible wear in the bearing or race.

Congratulations!!!

You've worked hard to get to this point. Enjoy it!

That first drive after tons of work to get them roadworthy... always a fantastic feeling.

Jerome, you informed me of their existence so that is at least one more person who knows now.

Just add it to the list of awesome quirky american cars exported to Argentina that I so badly would love to have.

Nice solid work surface, great job. With what wood is priced at these days, that table may be worth more than the car

Hope Fred likes it!

Tim,

Do you have or would know where one could look into hiring practices and race relations for the other independents?

I find the subject incredibly interesting, especially when it comes to the smaller auto makers, but the information on this sort of thing for them is not as prevalent as it is for the likes of GM and Ford, at that time.

Also, thanks for providing that link Jerome, seems like quite and interesting read.

I sealed the tank yesterday, and started painting the outside. I saw several members here go with silver, so I did as well.
