Already have my room reservations! Looks like the Clipper will be making the trip with the dog and me. This will be the Clipper's first true Packard event.

Looks like you also have the original engine paint there as well. Now if you could only get a sample of it to Bill Hirsch, youo would make a lot of '56 Clipper owners very happy.

I spoke with Bill last fall at Hershey, and he said that if someone could provide a sample of the original paint, he'd make it.

Passed away quite suddenly yesterday. He had been in and out of the hospital over the last couple of months, and was quite weak and surprisingly frail. I just spoke with him a week or so ago and he sounded very weak. I'm sure those of us in the V8 community will miss him greatly.

HH56 is correct, the vinyl coated under hood blanket was used only on the senior cars in '56. The Clipper line used a fiberglass only pad.

I have actually seen 2 '56 Clipper Deluxes without the T/L option. One was at Hershey in '07 and the second was on eBay last year. I've mever seen production numbers as to how many Deluxes were were equipped with T/L but I suspct that the number would be actually rather low ad the the Deluxe model was the entry level model of Clipper an as such usually would be sold with the least amount of optional equipment.

Thanks for the help!
Seems that it was the same problem that Loyd had. The guys at the shop forgot to turn off the T/L when they jacked the car. They won't do that again!

T/l blowing fuses

The T/L on my '56 Clipper 2 dr has worked flawlessly until last Friday. Now the rear end is all the way down and the front end is pointing skyward. Tried pushing down on the front end and then tried to jack up the rear. While jacking up the rear end helped, when the jack was removed, the rear started to sag again. Thats when the t/l motor tries to lift, but keeps blowing fuses. Any ideas on where to start looking?

T/L was an option on all 1956 Clippers until about half way through the model run when it was made standard on the Supers and the Custom/Executives. The Deluxe usually was configured with the standard suspension, but could be ordered with the T/L
