Mal, she looks so sweeeeeeeeeeet.
Its a exact copy of what i am trying to achieve. Apart from white convertible top, which my wife disagrees, she says better dark green as white will get ruiened quicker, i still think white top. And seats i would like two tone white and bellevue green, or perhaps ivory and bellevue green?
Just love those wheels, really makes any car.

Mal, seats easy to remove? What yar think, dark green top or white?

Also need new red tail light lens, my project one is completly melted. Easy to get and fix i think. Around it is it chrome or just chrome looking paint?

Also on the question of seat removal, on the 54 Conv, is it just a question of removing 4 bolts to floor to take out seats?

Is this one of the better Group 2 Batteries I can use on a 54 ? And where is place to get new battery connectors?

Also, I have seen some solar power 12 Volt battery chargers, but what about 6 Volt? I have not seen any yet? do thet have them?

Thanks Charles, Media Blast Cabinet sounds just the job.
Dallas, Project Car arriving March time, as mentioned in many of my posts.

Will def check out this Media Blast Cabinet. Do you use 80 Grit Glass Bead Blast Media ?

The cheapest Cabinet $119 or so.

Happy new year to you also Terry.
Yes restoration here in UK. Glad they can be obtained in the uk still. Thats a big help. Perhaps also contacting the English America Car Club might help? Or just buy in America before car is shipped, that makes more sence.

Is there a good source of new nut and bolts suitable for these old cars, I am dam sure after 56 years or so these nuts and bolts will be in a bad rusty state, and after so much money being spent on car, shame to let rusty nuts and bolts let her down. Surely these old ones can't be made like new!!!!

May 2011 be lucky to us all.

I have no choice but to strip it to bare metal. Car was in basement where fire was. Although not in fire, it did get scorched, most paint peeling off. Ross Miller who I am buying from advised me that no choice but to strip it to bare metal. At moment sprayed with Red Oxide primer to hold it together, but does need stripping. If I showed you picture you would understand. Want to do that when project starts, and I can show everyone
Her progress as she's transformed.
I thank everyone for there kind words of encouragement and all your years of experience with useful hints. With every thread I am learning so much. What ever happens, I am sure this 56 year old lady will look just fine, and another great car from history is saved from the junk yard. It's great that so many kind members can spare there time helping others.
Happy new year to all.

So on show cars, what do people tend to use? And is it just a question of many coats of paint to achieve that show look?
