I belive you need p/n 348922 according to my parts manual.
It fits left side 1801 & 1901 models. Having recently searched for a couple of splashers for my 1937, I believe " Flackmaster " on this wesite may be able to help You. Packard 385

Stripped head stud,

Spring is here. . . beautiful, unless You've stripped a stud hole in the block. So now looking at possible ways to fix: 1 Maybe a helicoil ? 2. Tap the hole oversize to
1/2"NC and use a Dorman S-76 stud 1/2"for block & 7/16Nf for the nut, ( parts house says, "obselete" ) Maybe someone has another or possibly better idea, any and all would be appreciated. Any way without having to remove the engine again, ( 15th series 120 ) just rebuilt 282. Tried Kanter & Max for oversize studs, no luck. Thanks, Packard 385

Thanks to All:
For the information & advice. The situation required some rework of the mating surfaces & ( boss / flange ) areas, where washers contact manifold. I just didn't want to have to do that after having the porcelain redone. Again, Thanks All. Packard 385

Manifold surfacing

Has anyone faced the intake & exhaust manifolds for a 282" engine after they have been reporcelinized? The intake has been on the car forever, the exhaust was something newer & non-porcelin.
They fit & align quite well, but flange surface to the block leaks when they are installed, as much as3/16" when they are bolted together. I think they should be bolted together and then surfaced until true. Thanks for any ideas / input. Packard 385

I saw a movie about this several years ago, they wern't the first bad guys too try a get away in a Packard.
I read an article years ago, based on an escape in the 1920-1940's and the quote ( either the escapees or writers )was, " When escape is necessary & a fast getaway imperative choose a Packard." Packard 385

rrhorton,
Years ago I had a 526 Packard; I had the shell refinished ( chrome, not really correct ?) The hood lace was secured by a split type brass rivet, remove the rivets on each side of the screws & pull the lace out of the way. Hope this helps. Packard 385

If memory serves me right You need to shove the bezel around the door handle ( push it towards the outside of door. ) Then You should be able to access the rear of handle where you will find a pin, shove it out with a small punch or something like a piece of brazing rod. Don't lose the pin.
Hope this works for You Packard 385
