Re: Remove the Speedometer cable

It is not necessary to remove the sheath and center cable to clean and lube it. Unscrew from speedo, lower the cable assb and pull the central cable out of the sheath.
Be careful, the cable can be very greasy and stain the upholstery...Clean the center cable in a suitable petroleum solvent, then reinsert it into the sheath. Much of the old grease will come out when you remove the cable again. Then put some solvent into an oiling nozzle container and shoot some down the sheath. To lube it, get a tube of graphite, plain graphite and shoot some down the sheath. Do not use and oil/grease.. Oil and grease get thick when cold and will hamper the workings of the cable, graphite is not thickened by low temperature. With the cable off the speedo, get a very small oil can with nozzle or a wooden match stick, dip in oil until you get one drop on the end, then put it in the oil hole just above the speedo/cable junction. It's a bear to find, good luck. Thanks James From Kanter Auto Products

The wood on all 4 doors is not bolted to the door skin, it is a unit that is inserted into a large hole cut into the door. What the car in question is , it's probably a well used car whose wood failed and it was easier to bolt on a set of sedan doors. No such thing as a "wood delete"

this is a 38 Eight(120) 282" 3 1/4 BORE engine as can be seen by cast iron crankcase and side distributor. The super Eight has an aluminum crankcase and a distributor mounted in the middle of the cyl head. I have no idea how # came to be a super 8 320??? although that's what the chart seems to say. All parts are different between the engines.
We have all the parts you need, must know bore or overbore in inches Thanks James From Kanter Auto Prod

In many cases the copper washers can be re-used with no ill effect. The copper is soft enough take up any imperfections in the mating surfaces. They should only need to be replaced if cracked or split. In fact many of the aftermarkets manufacturers of the era like EIS and Wagner did not include them.
