After all the heat and the threat of bad weather, I went to the car today( Finally!) Battery was low. (Forgot to take it home). Took it home and charged it up, 6.3 volts. Went back to the car and all I get is a click! ????

Yes, that would be safe. Back to stock form really. Generally I turn the key,(turning the Ignition on.) Then step on the pedal on my 51.

I got mine to run with only a cleaning of the points. I had however given my clock to an older clock nut and he cleaned it for me back in 2009 when the car went back on the road. At first I did have a weak battery and the clock gave trouble. With the Optima, battery trouble is a thing of the past. I still have some trouble with the clock, (Points) Maybe it is the rewind arm causing a delay burning the points? I should mention that I wont leave the battery connected if the car will not be driven for some time. Maybe that causes a problem?

witch seal can be done with out a hole in the frame or dropping the pan? I am sure the one that we resealed the pan was not dropped. Sorry I don't have a cell phone so I don't text or the like so I know very few of the abbreviations used today

Likely my mistake as per "upper". But they both were leaking. one we could reseal one not. I assumed it was "Higher up" due to my mechanic saying he would have to drop the pan to get at it. sorry I don't know what IIRC means Brian

Hi John, My guess is you have a standard 200. My Father had a 52 200 Deluxe and it did have the "jet Pods". It was the inspiration for me getting my own Packard. A 1951 "300" or 2472 no pods however. the 200 standard came without pods but could be ordered Brian
