Whoa! "e pluribus unim"
I got the air gun(instead of water) and blasted all around the entrance between the tube and the block. Then I got the hack saw and a cushion for the pushing end and started "jugin" (southern term)it on all sides of the tube. Then I got the pointy nose vise grips, and straight claw hammer and a regular hammer and created a slide hammer. Voila! Most of the crud seemed to be within the reach of the hack saw blade.(red oval) Out of many suggestions, one successful result. Thanks Gents.

I didn't want to tag this along with the other thread.
Is there a way of coaxing the tube out of it's hole? Pulling on it is not doing anything.

Does the pulley come apart from the vibration damper or are they one unit? Mine is fried.
Is there someone who rebuilds them or are there new ones?

I sacrificed the slotted machine screws instead. I lopped off their heads with my trusty die grinder and had a bucket of water and a towel standing by for the fire that never happened.

I've tried every possible combination for a search for this and been unsuccessful.
I'm going to pull the engine on my 1937 Sport coupe. It is my understanding the transmission comes along with it. Is there a way of removing the cane shifter before trying to slide the assembly out the front? Thanks as always bilbo
