My family has owned Dodge/Plymouth, or ford since the 50s, and I personally always owned Dodge. Weve had 6 Dodge trucks, and the only problem weve had to date was one transmission in the 96 1500.

My 1993 D-350 has just over 222,000 miles and still runs great, Dads hemi 2500 just turned 100,000 miles.

I work as a town mechanic right now, and we run mostly ford cars and trucks. I do not intend to ever purchase one, but the few chevies we have are worse. much much worse.

yeah, the 56s have a sheet metal cover on the lower part of the bellhousing. it allows you easy acess to the converter drains and ring gear for baring the engine

I live about 4 hrs from Kanters, and it took them 4 weeks to get me an in stock oil pan gasket. I coulde ridden a bicycle there faster.

This hobby has enough challenges withhout having to deal with vendos who cant return calls or any other basic business functions.

ive found ethanol to be unsatifactory in super low compression lawnmowers its gonna suck in a 10:1 Packard V8.

My interest in engines runs the gamut from chainsaws to Packards, Diamond Reos, Dodges, Boats ect ect... you get the idea! nothing runs as well as it did. nothing.

I have yet to find an engine that ran well on ethanol. My (sold) 66 dodge dart ran better on the stabilized three year old gas in the tank than on the first fillup of E10. Same thing as an old lawn tractor i pulled out of a boneyard a few years ago. Same as the old boat. the list goes on.

Was the later, and similar, Delco Morrain unit any better? reading through this thread i see mention of the BTV being replaced later with a similar DM unit. Would one of these be an acceptible substitue? close enough in outside appearence, mounting location and leverage?

if i remember my reading correctly, all Auburns in that era were equipped with that dash plate, which, again iirc, was signed by Ab Jenkins. I belive they had to meet 100.8 miles per hour.

Really a beautiful car, the auburn speedster!

if anyody could find out what brand was used... some do contain ammonia and some do not. either way, there are products out there speciffically for washing cars, and i use them.

I use wd-40 on my chrome drum set hardware all the time, and while it doesnt reverse pitting damage, it really helps the old, rust stained and road damaged stuff look good again.
