Transmission mounts
#31
Just can't stay away
Just can't stay away

Bryce S.
Hi. I have got everything disconnected from the engine, and the front lifts up, but it doesn't seem like the trans is lifting. I have what I think are the mounts disconnected, but it won't budge. What am I forgetting?

Don 37, is the 54 2 door rusted out? I am looking for a parts car but one that is not rusted. Thanks.

Here is a nice looking 53 Patrician. All original with some work already done.

Thanks for the help. I have the whole front clip off already so I hope clearance won't be an issue. It is in a garage so I have to remove it from the side, but it looks like I'll have enough room.

Ok, thanks. I have a load leveler that I plan to use with it. Are there any tricks to disconnecting the trans and engine that aren't stated in the shop manual? What's the best way to do it?

Engine and trans question

Just can't stay away

Hi everyone. I am removing the engine in my 54 Clipper, and I was wondering if it would be better to remove the trans and engine together or just the engine. I plan to rebuild the engine, but I'm not sure of the current state of the transmission. Thanks.

Looks like a great deal to me if you have room for four cars.

Thanks, that looks like it might be an option, considering the fact that he keeps dropping the price!

So I have about everything disconnected from the engine, but I was wondering what the best way to disconnect the Ultramatic from the engine is? I'm not planning on pulling the trans and engine together.

Ok, so I got the largest engine stand I could afford, which is a 2,000 lbs one. My question is, can I bolt it to the back of the bell housing or should I remove all of that and bolt it right to the engine?
