Silicone fluid will not mix with water, if you put a drop of fluid in a glass of water.

Al,

Thanks for info, I`ll ask around. Might take some time, Norway is a very long country; approx 1100 miles.

Perhaps I can help, I`m living in Oslo. Perhaps you can give me more details about the car, and if possible to what part of Norway it was sold.

Yep!

1 US gallon = 3.78541178 liter
1 liter = ? 1.57
1 Euro = 1,4847 US-Dollar

3.78541178 x 1,4847 = $5.62 per gallon

In Norway, the price today per US gallon is approx US Dollar
10,50.

Thank you all.
Just for the record, I have 1956 Clipper, the torque was 55-60. And I have ordered a helicoil kit from Amazon.uk.
I would appreciate any torque info and experience with reduced
torque settings, as I have had a leak between the bell housing and the transmisson case.

Thanks for your answers.

The reason for my questions is that I (or rather the person who did the job before me) have ruined several threads in the aluminum transmission case, when using torques between 20 to 40 lbs.ft., and of course among others where the self locking screw is to be used.

Another thing is me finding Helicoils 7/16-14 in Scandinavia, I have tried this morning, will seemingly be like finding Whitworth in a U.S. origin car.
Any good suggestions what to do?
