Re: AACA Forums?

I wouldn't say that ALL the inhabitants remain:

"If your house burns down, you don't go back and look at the ashes everyday, so I won't be back anytime soon.
To all that have helped me, over the past couple years, I want to say 'Thank You'."

Deleting my posts is one thing, but deleting the replies from other people is simply doing the house cleaning that you wanted to do in the first place, I just gave you the excuse you were looking for. And for that, I apologize to every member and ex-member of the AACA Packard Forum. I should have seen this coming when John S. was banned.

Meanwhile, we'll listen to the crickets over in the AACA Packard Forum.....

I think that the confusion lies in the fact that I asked if the administrator of the forum if he could delete my account, not that I wanted him to eliminate all my posts. I was simply asking if it was possible to "ban me", not to have it done in the way that it was. I see this as a chance by the AACA to clean house, and to that effect, it has been accomplished. The reason why I asked if my account could be deleted is that I didn't see anywhere in the "my home" section, so I figured that it would have to be a moderator/administrator to do it. All in all, it makes me realize that I was correct in wanting to leave the AACA Forums, as the power hungry "powers that be" have been looking for any excuse to get rid of the "malcontents" on the Packard forum.

A little update to the AOD-T/U project:

I have found a suitable O/D unit off of my old '53 Clipper that I have rusting away. It has a far shorter tailshaft than the T-85OD trans that I have, so I'll be using it for the o/d automatic. I'll keep you all posted as things progress, but it's looking pretty good so far!

I would say that the card stating "James Ward Parker" would be a mistake, but that's just me. I'm no expert on Packards or anything.

Buy a t-shirt from our head t-shirt man, Craig, and send me an e-mail for the password to the site.

Kev, I've noticed that the "read/unread" indicators seem to not be working for me on the main forum. I read a thread, the section I'm in seems to know I've read it, but the main forum doesn't. Any ideas?

Re: Hershey Becoming to Expensive?

Gentlemen, that WAS a good time at Craig's house last year! No membership fees, just everyone chipping in $10-$20 for the food and beer, working on the 1956 400 (I should say dismantling), and building the supercharger bracket, along with Kevin's build up of his 374. Entertainment and education for the measly price of $20, how could you possibly go wrong? Charging people to enter their cars is something we'll never do unless it gets so big we have to rent a park to hold it in. (Which, BTW, might just happen one of these days) The most expensive part about the meet was getting there and back, which I think was the same for about everyone who attended.

As far as I know, we haven't decided where the next National Meet of The Packard V8 Club will be this year, and if it's too far away, I won't be able to make it. Last year's trip cost me close to $1000 when it was all said and done, and I doubt that I'll be able to do that again this year. If we happen to have it a little closer this year, I should be able to come, but like I say, we haven't decided where it's going to be! Holding a meet doesn't have to be expensive, if a person is smart about it, and members donate their yards/back 40's/etc to the club for a day, or about 7 in Craig's case.
