filming without clapperboard

How about the boys of the Russian intelligence service? Have they used ZIS cars for their job?
Yes they have. Please find attached a pic that shows an arranged antiwar demonstration. Cubans and locals spurred on by gonzo news and filmed by the KGB converged on the American consular office. Their banners read "Hands off Cuba".

Howard, that was my first thought too. The engine is heavy and probably even heavy enough to balance an obstacle like a curbstone or a threshold in the driveway.

Parking????? THat thing would be great for making power U turns in the middle of the road.

Great idea but not easy. First you have to stop the car before the dance starts.

BTW It would be intresting to know the details on how the car is stabilized to not tip over.

That would almost justify the "swim platform" off of the back of those 50s convertibles.

John, that is exactly what I think too! Before that the swim platform (handy term) was perishable fashion. With parking assistant it almost makes sense.

Don, thank you for sharing the video.

Jim, do you know the photographs from Randy, taken in the Frick car museum in Point Breeze, Pittsburgh and showing the elegant Packard parking assistant in powder blue??

Once upon a time in America ...

It is, if not as old as the world, at least as old as the world the most of us know by own observation. Even 1948, that means 63 years ago, people discussed the similarities of Packards and ZIS's, their degree of variance and equality and the genesis of Soviet Packards. In March 1948 the LIFE magazine published a photograph showing bitter altercations in Prague. Weeks later a couple of letters from readers contained statements on the pictured car.

... I would very much appreciate any photos you could provide (and anyone else as well) ...

Am interested in all linkage in the area of firewall from steering column down but particularly lower end where it passes the booster area at frame and connects to pivots. PV8 provided a picture of the area the pivots mount but unfortunately, his car had no linkage.

The shape and approx distance the closest rod comes to frame would be very helpful as I moved the booster to the right and need to make sure I didn't move too far.

Am pretty sure I left enough room for the clutch but one of that area for confirmation would also be appreciated.

We had usual ZIS and armored ZIS and even ZIS with four wheel drive, sometimes open sometimes not. A station wagon, a race car ... once we talked about ambulances, we even talked about black ambulances and additional a draisine drove through PackardInfo. Was there something else?

Sure! How about an ambulance train? Eastern legend or reality?

Reality. Eastern reality.

Norodom Sihanouk, two times King of Cambodia, two times its Sovereign Prince, one time its president, two times its prime minister, one time even its non-titled head of state and a couple of times in numerous positions as leader of various governments-in-exile ... but for us a passenger in the backseats of a ZIS. Until 1960s even Packard cousins had King size.

BTW He is alive, at the moment The King-Father of Cambodia and has an own website.
