1942 120 convertible, Carb heat shield and battery cable

Just can't stay away

I need a little help with a couple of items. As I put my 42' slowly back together, In all the pictures I took when I disassembled it, I can not find pictures that show either of these items
First one is how does the heat shield mount by the carburetor? Second question is how does the negative battery cable route from the starter to the battery, I have one cable clamp that I tagged but I have no idea where it goes or the route the cable goes. Pictures are attached of what I have Thanks for any insight Jerry

I have an OEM oil filter I am putting on my 42 120. I came off a 41 110 deluxe 4 door that was factory ordered. When I started cleaning it up to paint it it looked like the main filter body was black. Is that the correct color?
I have seen so of the after market Fram ones painted orange, others I have seen are almost an army green. Any one have an original with the original paint color still on it? Thanks for the help

I am getting ready to have an engine rebuilt for my 42' 120
The original block was bad so I am using one from 1945. The question is, all three heads I have are cast iron 282 heads and they are all marked HC Packard 282. They all have the part numbers cast in the top near the front edge just in front of the water outlet. Two of them have part number 387835 and one has part number 367635 - Maybe different years? None of the parts book list either of these numbers all the way from 1935 to 1947 They have the parts numbers just above and below these. The parts book list 367636 as the correct head for all 42' 8 cylinder 282's Anyone have any idea's as to why they are not listed? Best guess to what one to use? They all look exactly the same. I plan on taking a couple of 41/42 radio waterfalls and cut them apart and try to re-glue the parts into one good waterfall before I paint it.
The question I have is- What is the best glue or epoxy to use on the plastic from that era. I am guessing they are made of Tenite like the steering wheels but that is just a quess. Also what is the best filler to use to fill any voids or cracks in the ash tray surround made of the same material? Anybody had good luck doing this? Thanks

For what it is worth - I went out and measured my 42' 120
I also wonder if they were measured point to point or somewhere else! Depending on how straight I held the ruler - the measurements were: The rears measure 20 1/2" to 20 5/8" I also have a bunch that are NOS that are marked with part number 366320 and they measure about 20 5/8" yet the parts book shows them being 19 7/8" and for the rear of both the 110 and 120 in 42' The fronts measure 22 7/8" or 22 3/4" I also have a bunch I took off 2 41' 110's that I parted out The rears all measured in the 20 1/2" to 20 5/8" while the fronts measured about 18 3/4" to 18 7/8" The 42' parts book also list 3 different sizes for the convert with side mounts but no measurements are given - it says, 2 longs, 1 medium and 1 short and these part numbers are all different than the ones used on non side mount fenders So from what the parts book says there were 5 different trim strips used on the front fenders
