I installed the tank from Motor City Classics in my '56 Clipper. It required an additional bend to the filler pipe to properly position the filler opening. Attached are pictures of the tanks and the template I used for the bend.

As a source for bolts, try BoltDepot.com. You can buy individually, bags, or bulk. 5/16-24 x 3/4 Zinc plated grade 8 steel yellow, $0.24 each, $8.69 for 50. Stainless steel 18-8, $0.30 each. They are located near you in Hingham. They ship quickly and you don't have to play the Amazon slow shipping if you aren't a prime member.

I had the same situation. I left the torque converter attached to the flywheel and removed the transmission. I had the heads off when I removed the engine and transmission so it was easy to set the block down oil pan up. I removed the crankshaft with the flywheel and torque converter attached and then was able to take them off.

When making the bend to the filler, the use of a bender (I used a Compact Bender from Harbor Freight) puts all of the bending force on the filler pipe so that the soldier attaching it to the tank is safe.

When deciding where and how much to bend, include the limitations of the fender. I didn't change the bend closest to the tank because I wanted more clearance between the pipe and the fender and based on my template it looked like it would hit.

Here is the link to the tank comparison and template in the other thread.

Packard V-8 factory air conditioning system did not use a York compressor. Only a Lehigh 4-4 compressor. A York compressor would mean that the system has either been modified, or it isn't factory air.

True, but as I am using a Packard cast Lehigh compressor bracket and will be mounting a Sanden compressor, a York compressor isn't part of the equation. I have been unable to find a Packard cast Lehigh compressor bracket to Sanden compressor adapter, I have therefore started with an available adapter which works with the new component, the Sanden compressor. Or do you know of someone making Packard cast Lehigh compressor bracket to Sanden compressor adapters?

There is no separation between the PS and AC pulleys. It looks like the ARA pulley in your picture.

I an using the cast factory bracket and idler. I plan to either modify the York to Sanden adapter or redo it. What I found is that a 1/2 inch belt is not a good fit on the damper pulley and the idler so I was looking more for the width than the length.

Yes, the factory A/C. I am using the factory vibration damper and idler pulley, but will be using a new compressor. The belt has to fit the factory components. I need the belt information to get the correct pulley for the compressor. I have not found specs for the belt, group 29.070, part number 465547.

I'm trying to find the size of the factory air conditioner belt. Does anyone have that information? Thanks
