Re: Packard Dealer Tags/Frames?

I had one for my Packard from Ed Roth & Son our local Packard dealer in Glassboro NJ. It was a complete frame type.
He also sold MG and I put the frame on my MGB-GT and like a dummy, I left it on the car when I sold it to a fellow in Newport RI.
Been looking for another for years.

One wrong move of that hose assembly would result in some nasty body damage!

Dug back into the archives here on the forum. Thanks to Howard's leads.
Found the posts and project photos of the 1957 Packard Four Hundred and Black Bess.
There hasn't been any recent posts I could find since 2013. Seems Denny had sublet his building to the State of Pennsylvania for a staging area for a highway project. The road project should be done by now I would hope.
I PMed Denny to see if there has been any progress or new photos.
I will let us know if I receive a response.

Black Bess 2 Updates?

Has anyone heard any updates on the 1957 Packard Black Bess 2?
We were talking in the garage tonight about it and wondered if there were any updates. Last anyone remembers is the article in Hemmings from 2013.

Hope the Mrs. Doesn't get too upset about the manifolds in the oven.
I cleaned my headlamp buckets in the dishwasher, my wife caught me!

I also am not a big fan of the continental kits.
On your car it looks very nice, and the kit used looks better than the factory unit.
It's your car, do as you like. But if it were my car, I'd leave it on.

Thank you for the information on production figures!
I was surprised that Packard built so many cars equipped with A/C.
I guess the production figures on the Cellarette option will never be known.
More than likely those papers were dumped out on the floor or thrown in a dumpster during the "last days in the bunker".

I wonder how many 1941 Packards were assembled equipped with air conditioning, Cellarette, and power windows? Couldn't have been very many!

Thanks Fred,
I'm sure if the op gets the Cadillac wire wheels and your center caps,
That 54 will look fantastic!

Beautiful Packard! Congratulations on your Packard ownership!
When I was in High School (many years ago!) a beautiful girl in my class drove a 1954 Packard two door hardtop, it was cream with red top.
Always enjoyed that combo!
She oversteered turning into a street and hit a fire hydrant one fall day.
I helped her and her Dad procure replacement parts. Needed a bumper, grille, and left front fender and assorted smaller bits.
She was soon back on the road, tooling around town in the Packard.
Always think about her and her Packard when I drive by her house to this day.
Good luck with your new Packard and hope you can find appropriate center caps for those Caddy wire wheels.
