Just can't stay away

another problem i have o?l leak Under the pump for Windows so i removed it and see it is leaking from small hole Under the electric motor housing i took it apart and found the seal is leaking because the shaft is badly pitted where the seal is positionned. has somebody tried to put speedy sleeve on the shaft. what guys do you think about that thanks Maurice

you are so right Owen it,s a must i will clean all the oil gallery and passages when i gonna have the block back in my garage

good afternoon everybody by the time i am waiting for my parts i started cleaning small parts and what a surprise in the strainer almost blocked. pump body and gears like new. Packard engineers thanks for making the strainer screen with that mini holes Maurice

good afternoon thanks JOE i have read your history on 356 rebuilt i think everything will be usefull for me. all my stuff is in machine shop waiting for valve guides and pistons pin bushings etc etc i,ve seen you put the engine back in frame with the head bolted on. from where did you lift it when i removed mine i used angled anchors on head studs i am curious what is the trick Maurice

thanks HH56 for info on the hesd machining i will go to minimum maybe .002-.003 and somebody told me that the marks on the back of rod bearings -002 with blue ink are for identify that the bearings are .002 oversize i don,t have the tickness measure of a std bearing for compare but i will measure it another way

good afternoon everybody i dismantled engine completely yesterday and this morning brought the block,the crank and the head to machine shop in montreal everything is zero we decided to rebore the block .030 new pistons and rings. the crank has some hairlines scratches he will try to polish it i already found std. main bearings and for the rods i found .002 set of bearings the head will be shaved .005 for make sure it is straight i have a quetion for you guys did you ever seen blue ink marks on the conn. rod bearings -002 usually i think it was punched may be i am wrong i will try to put pictures thanks have a nice day
