Thanks Howard! I was about to get new ones but I think I'll give that a try to see how it goes. Given it's a daily driver in the NE I also like the idea of avoiding pot metal joints and opting for something a bit stronger, at least for unseen door innards. I'll report back about how it goes.

Great, that is very helpful! It seems like I'll need to just buy a new kit with the joints and stepped down shaft.
Thanks a bunch!

So I've heard there might be small u-joints to install that rectify this issue? Can someone confirm this for me before I drop unnecessary $$ on another set of locks?

Finally got around to the locks, of course it didn't go as planned. First I realized that I needed to grind down the end of the new shank as mine was square up to the end. Once that was done, I thought it would just slide in but the angle of the tumbler is too severe for the shank to fit in the latch and the lock to sit flush. I may have to order another set of locks and keys because the eBay ones I have don't have enough angle.
Why wouldn't they just make the tumbler directly across from the latch?!?

Ok great, definitely something I'll get to with some help and maybe a jack! I've assured it's the bumper, knocking it with the hand upward it makes clear contact. Something at some point happened on the passenger side of the car, likely it was swiped or ran along a wall, there's some scraping along the trim and the front fender isn't quite straight. Luckily no other damage or serious issues but I bet that's when the bumper got out of its place.

48-50 front bumper adjustment

Hello All,
My front bumper seems to be a bit crooked, the passenger side end makes contact with the fender when I hit a bump causing a loud bang in and out of the car. It was actually a relief discovering this was the sound and not a suspension part! In looking at the mounts and hardware there though, everything seems a bit solid and I'm not sure how to adjust it really (Bend things? Spacers/shims?). I also see pictures of other cars where it's similarly angled up, as if the lower part is smiling a bit, and other cars where it's angled down, as if the bumper is hanging from the middle. Is it an easy thing to adjust? Thanks!

No problems for me either, and the roads here are like a minefield of potholes. It is tight getting them in the rear fenders as mentioned, but deflating and wrestling worked for me. I went with budget black wall tires (radial champiro or something) off Amazon and got a deal where a Pep boys installed them on the rims (brought to them off the car). Other than some questions about the tubes on the wheels, they had no issue getting the radials on and holding air and they haven't leaked. Been driving in all conditions for 7 months now.
