Bob J, hopefully you can help me out. I'm currently restoring all my windows, window frames etc. Don't know if you restored your own vent/door window frames. But I'm currently putting my vent window together and am about to install the rigid run channel. The pieces I have can run from top all the way to the bottom (pictured with yellow highlight) My question is, is the protruding metal piece (red arrow) needed. I know it was originally covered with felt but if the rigid run channel covers the whole channel area, is this protruding piece needed? Will leaving it there cause the door frame to possibly rub or bang against it? Or does it need to be removed? Thanks. Hopefully I was clear enough in my explanation.

I think I should be safe enough. I've had multiple malaria shots, I've inhaled enough lead fumes from lead loading & filling that Kryptonite doesn't have any affect on me. I also work with HgCdTe, Bromine and plenty other hazardous metals/ materials, so a little bit of iron oxide is like candy to me.

BTW, I was inquiring as I wanted to make sure those areas weren't starting to rust through and compromise its mounting or in case I needed to add metal to strengthen it. I think it's best to ask any and all questions so there aren't any surprises.

Also note since you are in California, this item will be appropriately labeled with the proposition 65 warning to address your cancer concerns, as well as the Flackmaster warning that 86 year old Packard parts carry appropriate tetanus warning, and cautionary statements about inserting ones fingers or other body parts into spinning fan motors, sharp edges on metal parts and other such appropriate advisories such as caution should the part be found anywhere where it should not be, the kitchen sink, breakfast table under the bed, etc.

Sure you want it?

David, is there cancer in these areas? More in the red and a little in the yellow.

Looking for a 1937 Packard Deluxe heater, preferably in working order. But would consider one that needs work. Thanks in advance.

The “modern” style pumps “exist”. IF you can find one. They are fairly rare, but they do pop up from time to time. I have one on my 37… had it recently rebuilt by the Dutchman…

But no… nobody is making a modern style actively….

Here's a "modern" style pump that I was lucky enough to find. Kept in having issues with the original myself.

Not too long ago I painted my dash. I too was looking to see if it was possible on my 120c. The only pieces that I was able to remove were the 3 separate inserts that house the speedometer, instrument cluster, and the glove box door. I got those woodgrained. The larger single piece that houses those is welded in place.

Sounds good. I was trying to track down these sheets for awhile, as I wanted to check on my color. Got lucky and came across them

Did you need some info on some of the paint chips? I have a 37 paint chip sheets, but it's NFS, if that's what you're looking for.

I just received my top and was taking inventory. Ended up figuring out that there's a piece of flat metal that holds the rear window curtain up with turnbuckles. I do not have this piece, I didn't realize until now that I am missing this. Does anyone know the length, width and gauge of this piece, so that I can make one. Thanks in advance. Pictures attached for reference.
