I know in some quarters the Treadle-Vac is looked at as unreliable. I can tell you definitely that is not the case; when I bought my 1955 400 back in 2003 the car slammed to a stop when I mashed the brake pedal to the floor. The problem is incompetent rebuilders out there (like white post restorations). Send that unit to Ross Miller he will fix that unit right and it should give you many more years of service.

I am about to pull my hair out. My car has a problem it appears to be located in the Ignition system I put a new distributor cap on the car then started it up and pulled it into the driveway to give it a wash. When I was done I tried to start it up and drive it back into the garage well it cranked but would not fire up I put a test light on the coil it lit up bright. A friend suggested the condenser may be the issue so I ordered one from max merritt (there only $15 bucks) if that fails to get this engine to fire up I don't know what to do.

Has anyone had problems with 6 volt batteries from battery central mall. I bought a battery for my 1940 180 and my mechanic tells me the battery is DONE will not hold a charge. I bought this battery less than 2 years ago and waited 4 months to get it.

I was driving to a classic car event on Saturday in Hershey and never made it-all of a sudden the car started sputtering and backfiring then it died luckily I was right by an emergency pull-off and pulled the car over there. I belong to keystone AAA so they flat beaded the car back to my home. checking the car the next day I discovered that no power was going to the spark plugs. about 6 month ago the car did something similar and a local mechanic said there was a broken wire in the distributor. I am going to take the car to a long time family friend who is a mechanic. and whatever he recommends I will do. I have plans to attend the meet in Alexandria Va next year and certainly want the car to be able to make it there and back.

I was looking to upgrade my car to a Petronix ignition, has anyone else done so? If so I would like to hear from you.
