85W-140 GL1 not 85W-40 GL1. Surprised no one caught my typo.

Many of us use 85W-40 GL1 EP gear oil in the differential. It must be extreme pressure rated gear oil.

Talk with Bill at Diamondback Tires. Their Auburn Deluxe Tubeless Radials are made in the vintage sizes. I have found him to be most helpful.

Kev, aluminum foil is a good masking to use for protecting parts which you do not want to paint.

The reference is to a burnishing tool. It also says not to ream the bushing.

Peppermint oil has been found to be a good deterrent to keep pests from getting in the engine compartment. Dilute a few drops of the oil into a water filled spray bottle and spray the entire compartment. Also, a maker of rodent traps sells the oil in small bottles that drip a small amount of the oil over time. Place the bottles around the engine compartment and garage door area.

In addition to disconnecting the battery, I connect a battery maintainer to keep the battery charged.

Store the car with a full tank of fuel to avoid condensation. Treat the fuel with Stabilizer.

Inflate the tires to a higher than normal pressure to help prevent flat spots.

Thanks for posting this video. I will share it. There is another inspiring video out there showing the celebrations in Honolulu upon the surrender of the Japanese. It's true, World War II was fought in color.

Yes. Some of us have used channel lock type pliers ground down to make the jaws thinner as a tool to loosen the governor for removal and to tighten it when replacing. A special size spanner wrench was probably originally used back in the day, but the pliers work. We have found the governors are not too tight when removing because of the large diameter and fine thread of the portion that screws into the OD unit.

You guys beat me to the reply. Quick work.

Sometimes one can just firmly grab the governor and unscrew it without using any tools.
