You might try Hanlon plating in Richmond Va

hanlonccp@cs.com they did a 49 Packard front bumper for me a couple of years ago. None of then are cheap!

The lens cover pops off-My light did not work either. It turned out the light was not connected under the dash. Hopefully yours is the light bulb.

Optima batteries use sulfuric acid in some kind of gel. Which is the basic operation of a lead acid battery.

Take a look at Tractor Supply-the group 2/3(long narrow) they sell for about $85. I am sure they have other 6v. It is a lead acid which is basis for the optimun

What is important is to have some way of disconnecting the battery when the car is not in use for safety reasons. Whether it is the time honored way of pulling a cable off the battery, green knob cut off or some other creative way.

I had one of those "geen" nob cut off switches-it basically fell apart. I now just take the + terminal off the battery. Much easier-

This is not recommended for those of you that have batteries under the seat.
