Will add a little here on progress. All the fenders have been replaced fronts were easy they bolt on . Rears a little more work as they are welded. I cut the lower section of both rear fenders and the NOs rears I had and installed them where the trim seam is covered by wide moulding. Had my brother weld them in place. All four fenders will now be NOS.
The car was taken to body shop to be taken care of by a professional as that is not even close to my area of knowledge or skill. The day we took it to body shop was quite wet.
Also worked on dash pad, door panels and painted the Steering wheel.

Rather slow here since Sunday most of the time. A few times working as normal. Different times of day seem not to be a factor

Can only speak for my situation. If its what I want to do to keep me happy or busy my wife supports the money and time I spend on any of my hobbies or interests. I try and do the same for her interests. As on of my old friends use to say if shes (your wife) not happy you won't be happy.
At least when I'm involved with cars or car events which I attend with brothers or freinds she knows where and what I'm up to.
As a little addition when Randy calls about going to a cruise and gets my wife he always asks if I am allowed to come and play.

McMaster Carr has magnet wire in many sizes enamel coated as used in coils and motor windings. Not a real hard job just takes a little time including the removal of old wire and counting the amoumt of turns. I remember my dad rewinding a overdrive selonoid in the early 1960 and after it was rewound the overdrive worked as new. Having been around coil and stator winding just keep everything clean and coils tight and you should have no problems. Take pictures as you dismantle and make notes to duplicate the end result is like the orignal.
Its not rocket science just take your time should be no problem.

My concern on the use of this method to tow is that all the braking is to be supplied by the brakes of the vehicle doing the towing. My concern is that in our area there are a lot of hills going down would add a lot of extra strain on the brakes of the towing vehicle. The 4 wheel trailers I prefer have there own brake system a extra safety measure as the Packard is a heavy automobile

The 58 Packard hawk tail light are not going to fit the 57 Clipper the C - K coupe bodies Studebaker share almost no sheet metal or trim pieces with the Y bodies which are the 57 Clipper. The 57 have add on pieces to allow the Packard stlye tail light to be installed on modified rear fenders .
