1942 Model 2055 "160" no temp reading

This is another recent problem I am having with my 2055. I am getting no reading on my temperature gauge and this is not an electrical gauge!!
Boy this looks like it will be a huge headache to repair. Can anyone tell me how to remove the gauge from the instrument panel etc? Not looking forward to that with all the old wiring etc. There is absolutely nothing in the repair manual the discusses the temperature gauge. Also see nothing about removing the instrument panel anywhere.
Any help at all will be hugely appreciated.

Thanks for the pictures but they are for a '41 and mine is a '42 and only has one bar not three. Are there any pictures of a '42 with a single bar that you can send?

Wow I don't know how that got switched since the bumpers were together when I took the bumpers off and put back the same way. The 160 bar must have got switched before I purchased the auto. I have the scripted bumper with the 160 bar on the same bumper. Your sure that is correct I presume.
Thanks/Lee
p.s. Am going to change as per your info. Thanks

1942 Model 2055 "160" rear end leaking

The rear end is leaking a little where it attaches to the drive shaft. I was wondering if anyone can supply the Packard part number for the rear end front seal. I am thinking I can perhaps still obtain the seal by cross referencing the number with some of the major seal companies.
If anyone can supply any additional info such as the physical size or even where one could be obtained that would be great. I would like to make sure I have a replacement in hand before I start work on the rear end. Thanks much.

p.s. Where can Packard part numbers be found for this auto?

Had both bumpers off the car for a long time. Got it repainted and put the bumpers back on. But now I am wondering if I put them on correctly. One bumper had the word "Packard" on the bumper and "160" on the bumper guard round horiz piece. I mounted the bumper with the Packard name on the rear. Is that correct or did I put them on wrong.

These clips apparently are not made anymore. I tried Au-Ve-Co which has a very large catalog of clips and they no longer have them. They are a distributor for several clip manufacturers. Thanks for the reply.

If any of you have any of these stainless belt trim clips laying around after a restoration or whatever, I could sure use them. Between the delay in taking off the trim and having it painted I have many clips missing. 41 to be exact!
If you have even 5 or 6 that would help. Will pay your price. Please send message or call (509)967-2723

Yes that is very good information. I am presently in the process of having my '42 Business Sedan 160 painted, and want to paint it a two tone brown. Good to know about the underside of the hood. Sure would like to get some photos of some brown two tone pictures. I have to choose some colors and that is always a tough decision. Any help I can get would be appreciated.

I want to two tone my '42 "160" in a two tone brown. Do you have any photos in this color? Lee from WA state.

Have my 1942 160 in the paint shop right now, and want to repaint to a two tone. Can some of you perhaps find some color photos of the '41 or '42 senior cars with a two tone paint job. I am trying to get ideas of colors and scheme. Will be much obliged. Please send pix to my email address: auto.nut@charter.net
Thanks so much/Lee
