Here is some information about the scam.

I got a call from 925-399-9716. Last name Bell. Claimed he had gotten a call from a member in Texas telling him about my ad.

Said his dad had just died and had bumpers, front fenders, sidemount mirrors and a NOS starter solenoid.

I said I wanted the mirrors and the solenoid. He said he was leaving CA to go home to Montana and couldn't take them on the plane. He wanted the money transferred thru a phone app. He couldn't take Paypal.

I told him I would have to get back to him and haven't heard from him. A online search on the phone number reported similar scams.

Did anyone refer this request to someone in California whose dad just died of COVID?

If not there is another scammer.

Apparently, a former California owner had developed a leak in the tank and decided to pour some sort of sealant in it to stop the leakage. Even put a large self-taping bolt with some type of patch on it to seal a larger hole. No wonder it rattled when I shook it. Guess it's time for the blaster and some welding.

I decided to assess the coolant recover tank. There were rust throughs in the bottom of the tank, so I decided to section out the rusty area. It is interesting to see the internals. A lot more complicated than expected.

Might try High Temp Labmetal. Good to 1000 degrees.

We call it Mayretta. It is about 20 miles or so from me, but I see no reason to go look at it.
