Unbelievable what so many collectors do to their cars and how they overwhelm themselves with multiple insurmountable projects!

Reading on the AACA Forum, just a thorough rebuild of a Twelve engine runs $50K-60K currently. To that, add for restoration of all other aspects of each car another $250K-300K. Grand total of between $2M-$3M would be the bill to return these Packard to the road in factory condition.

What a shame, that is highly unlike to ever happen. Yes, these cars were saved from the scrapper but to no good end.

Hi

The popularity of the boat-tail roadster configuration pretty much ended with the 1936 Auburn Supercharged 852. The remaining custom coachbuilders built maybe one or two but none from 1938 forward.

Its place was taken by the Darrin-styled convertible victoria which were the rage through WWII. This '40 would have been better customized in that theme. Typical of this genre of later bodies, it lacks proper surface development, which requires skilled 'panel-beaters' and tools such as the English Wheel to create. The '55 Pontiac Star Chief rear quarter 'stars' are a nice touch...

Odd they couldn't be bothered to include their location.

That '28 Six convertible coupe got the critique here on the AACA 'Not Mine' For Sale Forum.

Although it's a decent car, the seller is wildly optimistic on price.

A '50 Eight Deluxe project:
