I am nit convinced the car in post #115 is a taxi model. The wheel beauty rings, roof mounted radio antenna, the lack of a roof light, and no taxi markings lead me to believe that it is a six cylinder Clipper passenger car. The 1947 taxis were built with many heavy duty features like springs, brakes, clutch, generator, regulator, rear end, six ply tires, and smaller turning radius than the Clipper passenger cars. If it is a taxi he must be going to pick up a hunting party in the woods. Ask the man who owns one. lol Packardtaximan

Help needed to identify a 1937 engine, The owner thinks the engine is not correct for this car and it needs to be overhauled. I am trying to help identify it for him so he can get the correct parts. The car is a 120 touring sedan with a Packard 8 cylinder engine. Is there a list here of engine numbers? I have not been able to locate it. Thanks for your help. Packardtaximan

Garrett, You have been a busy boy. Congratulations on your new mechanics helper. It's great that you still have your Packard. Best to you and your family. Packardtaximan
