Gottit.....
Hoping the Q-tine is over soon so I can get a few things powder coated. Still lots of busy work to do tho. Thanks to your photos, I was able to locate the two holes to mount the OD cable bracket on the frame. Will clean that bracket today and undercoat it before bolting it down.
As for the brackets (round). It may be that they are just inventory I have from my dad's barn. He was strictly Packard until 1964 and knew the local service personnel (Gibbs Machinery, Columbia, SC) well. When they took over the VW imnports, they called and gave him three days to empty their parts bins to make room for new inventory ('63). Still have some of that laying around.
Cheers

Again, thanks for the pics. They are a big help in trying to figure what panel goes where. I have several of the braces but might be a few short. Will have to see what fits where and then replace what I don't have.
Any idea what the small panel is in photo?

Howard, Thanks again for your insights. Yes, there is a clamp still clamped on the OD cable. Will look for the two mounting holes. Now that I know the speedo cable is on the passenger side, I should be able to find it's home.
Lots of minor details....

Since we all seem to have some extra time on our well-washed hands....
Have my 2126 back in my own garage after realizing the resto shop didn't really have any inclination to do much other than buff paint. Tying up some loose ends (wire ends to be exact) and installing trim, hood details, etc.
Some of the things the resto shop did I'm not totally sure are correct. The battery is grounded only to the chassis which they drilled and tapped to secure the +bat cable. I think I remember that isnt necessarily bad as a secondary ground but the primary ground might want to attach directly to the generator....I think...Cant seem to find a forum topic that addresses that though I know I have seen one or more. Also, the business ends of the speedo cable and overdrive lockout cable are taped to the chassis. Need suggestions on what tape I should use LOL. or...where they should mate up, both are presently exiting the firewall and taped together down the ride side inside of tire.
Any pictures of the above AND
Front fender brace attachment
dust/mud shields on sides of engine compartments. I think I have a few from Howard that show the hood latch hardware with some of the shields included. Hoping to wrap up under the hood soon
Thanks in advance.

All is painted and reassembling the hood and related hardware. Would anyone have a picture of a 21st series that shows where the pins, pads, and spring loaded safety catch might go on top of the fenders. Hood release is installed on both sides but it has been a while (as well as a different shop) since this hardware was removed
Thanks
Bob

2126 restoration back in "active" mode.

Had to drop the project on the restoration of 2126 that had been in family for 60 years. Recap....Drove the car in HS and college, parked for 40+ years and numerous attempts to find a good resto shop. The shop it is in presently does great work but not really interested in completing any of the cars they are working on. Doesnt seem to interfere with their billing tho...:(
I,ll have them wrap up the body work and reassembly ((97% complete) then bring it closer to home to finish the details, belt trim, window trim, door catches etc.
They do exceptional work...just can't seem to find a place to stop polishing body panels

I FEEL YOUR PAIN......
It is a crazy business, restorations, and I am almost convinced that 90% of the restoration guys never really expect to complete the project. On my third one now....At least the work done is absolutely impeccable but, there does seem to be a lack of "just get it done" mentality. Started five years ago to restore a 2126 that I drove in high school so that I could drive it to my 50th reunion. Well missed that one, hopefully by the 55th it will be ready. Hoping you can find the arm rests and as prior comments, donor car is the best place to look. Luckily, mine were intact but needed new upholstery. Best of luck with your plans...you came to the right place for direction.

just wondering.....did those cars come from SC. We sold off the rough collection my dad had about 4 years ago and two 47 clippers (matched set) were sold together. Could be a bunch of them were sold as such, just wondered what had become of the lot. Two 55 400's red and white, three or four 52's, two 51 patricians, some 53 and 54 clippers. I think that is correct from memory.
