My personal feeling is that almost any car from the 50 thru 70 with a lot of chrome and black paint looked great but the key is to keep the black clean and streak free which requires a look of effort on the owners part as this was before clear coat paint.
Having own about ten all black cars I speak from personal experience. When I had a black car and I was younger knew Saturday morning would be spent washing and waxing lots of work but worth the effort.

I was under the impression that crocodiles were the species most common in Aust. More than likely this is due to crocodile Dundee movies. Have no experience with either and wish to keep it that way.
My idea of cold blooded is a car that does not run well until fully warmed up.
Still enjoy your reports Mal usually one of the first things I read in the morning after my coffee. Also thank Wade for his work which makes your reports possible. Between you two all of us here have a view of down under which I have learned to admire and appreciate. Keep up the good work and good reporting .

The dual unit idea would be fairly easy as a lot of sport utility vehicles have front and rear units. My 99 Tahoe is a example which should be rather easy to find in junk / u-pull auto yard. Just a idea guess I spend to much time looking around the U-pull.

The hood ornament is similar but not the same as 55 Packard the hood contour is different as are the part numbers . But the Packard letters on the front of the hood are the same part number on the Packards and Packard Bakers as are the tail lights numbers the same.

like the connection with the usefulness of the vagabond.
This would not be a hood ornament but is the other end . Could be posted as a Mustang related

One of the ones I remember which is Cadillac or Packard related was the Blue Coral stickers on the vent window which stated car was blue Coral protected wash with clear water only. My uncle would take his Cadillac to dealer once a year for a Blue Coral job think they charged around a $100 dollars to due the job.
I remember later on going to the Packard garage and buying the Blue Coral package to apply myself to my car It was a lot of work to apply a two step process cleaner then the sealer lots of elbow grease needed

After all the time you spent scraping the rust and crud of the car during the rebuild you need retrained on what should be scraped and what should not. Maybe Wade can give you a few driving pointers on Packard driving. Just kidding as you know we are all friends here.
Still like the look of the dash great refinish job

My thinking is they are both a extension of the V used to connect with the V8 and the V on the grill. The larger stream line look was a sign of the times if you look at the Cadillac the 56 was longer than the 55. The basic styling theme was lower and longer and accent the ideas like the longer peaks on front fenders Also more chrome was the in thing and longer more chrome were the way all cars were headed .

Great pictures looks like you have a daughter who will grow up to like cars or at least like to spend time with her Dad which is important. Nice to have kids who enjoy the same things. Looks like a very complete job being done there keep us posted .
