No alterations required.
Wire #18 to the ignition switch is no longer used so could be cut off or taped up at the regulator end.

The selector which is the barrel shaped part between the levers needs to slide freely along the splines on the shifter shaft so that it can engage either the 2-3 or the 1-R lever and is likely stuck due to corrosion. It has a tab that moves into an opening in either lever. from the neutral position
Try more PB Blaster and working the shift lever back and forth by pulling towards the steering wheel and back towards the dash from the neutral position.

The Trico number is 76570-5" and is used for the 1937 115C and 120C only with no other vehicle applications.

Closed cars used the longer AL-11 wiper arms which do have other applications such as various 1935 to 1940 GM brands.

The adjustable AL-50 wiper arms are also listed for most brands but would be too long for the 1937 junior cars

Old Trico catalogs show the blades as 6-1/4" and the arms as 5", unique to 1937 115C and 120C

I agree with Packard Don and think it is something that makes cars equipped with it unique.
I've been driving my 22nd Series Custom 8 with it since 1984 and a 1951 Patrician daily driver in the 60' with no problems at all.

Yes.it is attached to the bolt for the inner rear battery box support bar and is shown that way in the 1937 shop manual.

Speedo pinion to use will depend on your rear axle ratio and tire size.

For 1946 models with overdrive, the 6 cylinder cars came with a 4:55 to 1 rear axle and the small 8 cylinder cars came with 4:3 to 1. Standard tires were 15 inch and export may have been 16 inch.

Best match speedo pinion will be the 412443 which has 18 teeth and was used with axle ratios of 4:3 and 4;36 for 15 inch tires

412442 has 17 teeth and used for axle ratios of 3:9 and 4:1

412444 has 19 teeth and was used for taxi and commercial chassis cars with 4:36 axle ratio and 16 inch tires. This one will be scarce.

The 1951-54 parts list shows spring #405373 under Group 30.335 for the front door lock on your 1954 Panama.

The window regulators also use spring #405373 under Group numbers 30.391 for the front door and 31.298 for the rear quarter.

This is the shorter spring. The longer one that is used for many other applications is #133264

Looks like the glove box bumpers were a button shape then dimpled in by the door as seen in the photo.

The hood side ones are more of a dome shape.
