My wife spent the day at a baby shower... I got to spend the day in the shop. Finished shaping the top sheet for the tail and got it tacked on place. Hopefully tomorrow I'll finish welding and grinding.

Alright guys I'm learning more and more about these motors as I read threads in this forum...
Today's question is can I use newer 320 rods that have shell bearings in my 7th series motor?

Back at it today! I really do love to vacation, but it also felt good to get back on the boat tail project.

Today I rolled the top sheet for the tail in the english wheel to get a nice crown on it. Five hours of work and I am getting close... maybe by next weekend I will have it tacked onto place.

Gas tank gets a pipe thread in a custom disc welded to the bottom. Originally, it had an insert soldered in a hex that has formed into the bottom of the tank. The metal was thin and the threads where messed up. I melted the solder and removed the insert. Then I drilled the hole open to 1 1/2" diameter with a step drill. I will make a custom disc and tig weld it in before I use the POR15 tank coating system.

Ok guys here is more questions about my motor that will be an easy to answer...

Does the crank shaft have oil passages to provide pressurized lubrication to the main and rod bearings?

Does the cam bearings get pressurized oil?

How are the lifters lubricated?

Thanks Mike

There is a guy in southern Indiana who molds Teflon spring pads... he sells them on ebay. His requires a hole in the spring to keep it located.
