Actually Gerd I had the radio antenna in mind. As I remember the Soviet Tanks from the WWII time did not have any radio communication. It lead to misfire and also to frendly fire wich also meant that many of there own men from the red army got killed.
The German tanks Panzer IV,Tiger and Panther where equipped whit radio communication.

When Henry Ford Junior visited the Togliatti plant in Soviet russia, it was said he was pleased what he saw. Togliatti is the plant that to this day produces Lada cars. The first model was a Fiat 124 based car suited for the soviet harsh climate under the name VAZ 2101. And to say this here and new its not a copy of the Fiat 124 but by a licence produced vehicle!

President of the Ford motor company

If that so, then the question rises what was he doing there, was he just there on a trip to the Soviet union and happened to visit the plant? I know H.Ford Junior visited Gorkii automobile plant on 12.aprill 1970 when the new model GAZ 24 Volga went in to full production!

My offer would be that its Andrei Libegard, the guy who designed GAZ 51, GAZ 69, GAZ M20! I think he is behind the wheel to get some inspiration!

In making a search in regarding some ZIS 110 cars I found this page:http://www.avtosssr.ru/art.php?id=67
If I look at the (pre)ZIL 111 "Moscow" it looks like the 1954 Packard? There might be some information in the text but, my russian is rather to bad to find it out.

But there is hope, this car collector has restored!? a ZIL-MMZ-555 truckhttp://www.eastcars.ee/ZIL/

PS! ALso note the ZIM and ZIS in the same collection!

One tip from the East-side of Europe, if your ZIS 110 fuel pump sizes or just stops working, having mean while a major leak from the pump it self(cracked membranes). There is also a possibility of combining GAZ 53,ZIL-154,164 membranes and fuel pump parts to fix the ZIS-110 fuel pump.
I don't think this info will help anyone over seas but its something I know most East-Europe car crafts man would do in a situation like this.
