I mentioned it because it was on the Studebaker club site in a discussion of which and whether Packards were decent cars. No one needs that kind of "help".

Don't normally go there; this was from a search.

According to Gus Wilson at the model garage, you should use a fine quality badger brush...

Exploding Fans?

While reading at the Studebaker Turning Wheels site I noticed a reference to the famous Packard exploding fans.

The poster declared that fifties Packard fans frequently split apart firing bits of shrapnel.

As often happens, the poster was absolutely positive....

Is there anything to this, and--if so--what?

Signed up to present mine at a local men's club where I get three minutes to tell about it.

Trying to wrap my head around minimal words and good priorities....

Air bag suspension was the intended reference.

Leaning towards starting with the suspension; also like the cloth interior that isn't charcoal, pewter or tan....

Vanderbrink auctions seems to specialize in barn find hoards/collections.

Fascinating auctions.

When you are asked about your car, what are the top things you like to tell people about it?

P.S.
My favorites are the people who tell you with absolute certainty things about your car that are absolutely incorrect. In my case that my car has a straight eight engine and air bags, both of which I get several times a summer....

FWIW My car came (to me) with a cheap recore that cut efficiency considerably. I had an expert redo the radiator (REX, in the Chicago area) who immediately caught and questioned the recore. It is now recored as original and it makes quite a difference.

I don't think most shops would have seen the issue, much less been proactive about it....

I had previously run hottish, particularly after adding air. No problems since the recore....

Has anyone offered turbine blades that offer significantly more efficiency? Or are there too many other factors involved?

When I have purchased the NAPA 1006 it has always come with two different gaskets.

Good idea to check when acquiring.....

When I had my drivers window glass replaced (with new glass), I was asked if I wanted tinted and then if I wanted it logo printed. Might want to check out new....
