A '50 Super Deluxe Eight, looks good in the tiny postage-stamp-sized photos. Seller list incorrect spec's, may be good car but approach with care, caveat emptor:

A '41 110 station wagon, pricy, solid teak body?

Thanks for the heads up. If it smells like a scam, sounds like a scam, gives you a bad feeling that it might be a scam, then it is a scam...Never, never respond!

Also never click on any link the scammer has put in his email or go to any of those sites the scammer is trying to get you to. Otherwise, it will infect your computer with spyware and viruses.

Wary is the watchword.

Memo to the prop guy...
Re: Upcoming filming, procure impressive old limousine, Packard etc. Budget $200-$300 maximum...need ASAP.

The January 1950 N.A.D.A. Used Car Guide for either the 1939 Super Eight 7-passenger sedan or limousine list the following:
Average Cash Value: $190
Average Base Value: $215
Average Retail Value $285

Price comparable were the 1939 Custom Imperials lwb and Lincoln K lwb models. The Cadillac V8's were about $100 more.

The '48 Custom Eight convertible project in Denver continues to be available:

Two '41 Clippers, projects and parts:

Wintertime, very slim pickings these days.

Garrett:

There was an article in the "Cormorant News Bulletin" years ago on surviving late number cars. Going on memory here, the latest known was a 400 hardtop 5687-4224. There was also a late Clipper as well, I don't recall the details. The last Caribbean convertible is well known and has been in the club for years.

The roster keeper could answer this question better. I do know that so far, the last car, a dark blue Patrician 5682-4775 isn't known to survive. One can only hope it's still out there.

Thanks Howard.

Looks like it beats my current method which is to photograph on my front porch with the best natural light once I've rigged up flattening the magazine with popsicle sticks and metal spring clips. Crude but affective. I haven't done much with bound books.

Once I get a good image (always take two or three) I use the www.irfanview.com software to clean up the images to the best I can get them. I might have to look into one of these Visan units.

This nice original '53 Cavalier just turned up on the AACA Forum:
https://forums.aaca.org/topic/373329-for-sale-1953-packard-cavalier-extremely-solid-and-original-warsaw-ny-not-mine/#comment-2318816

It's located about 25 miles from me, if anyone wants it inspected, send me a PM and I will go check it out for you and give you a report.

Steve

This poor '56 Patrician refugee from the big recent auction in nearby Utica. Although badly deteriorated but with A/C, note the serial number: 5682-4760, fifteen cars from the last Detroit Packard 5682-4775:

Hi

The one question I have, does the software visually 'flatten' out the image to accommodate the bound page making a distorted image?
